First VETAAL meeting - Kick of Meeting
CETEM, the science and technology research organisation for wood and furniture based in Yecla, Murcia, Spain has been appointed as the coordinating body for the European Commission project named 'VETAAL'. The project goal is the development of a training path for European Furniture Experts in Designing and Manufacturing of AAL. This training path will allow in the future to the Furniture Manufacturers to integrate AAL in their products making easier the daily life of Elderly and Disabled people. The consortium is made up of The Wood Processing and Furniture Association, part of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIS-WPFA), the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Furniture Manufacturers (OIGPM), the federation of Spanish wood industry enterprises CONFEMADERA HÁBITAT. There are two universities involved: The University of Vienna (Austria) and the University of Warsaw (Poland). Two public institutions: Murcia's Regional Development Agency (INFO) from Spain and the institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Vocational Education and Training (NIVET). The company expert in E-learning platform development Viteco (Italy) and Searchlighter (United Kingdom) in charge of quality assurance. CETEM take part in the project as project coordinator. The first technical meeting took place in Yecla (Spain) in the CETEM facilities during the 21st of November of 2013. During the meeting every partner introduced its organization and the general aspects of the project were exposed. Every work package was discussed in order to distribute the work tasks to develop in the following months. Also questions about financial aspects were solved. After the meeting the partners visited the CETEM facilities and went for enjoying a social dinner together in Yecla town.
